The sixty-foot long, ninety-ton bowhead is the only large whale that lives exclusively in the Arctic. This amazing animal boasts the largest head and mouth in the animal kingdom - their heads take up about 1/3 of their total body, and their mouths are said to be the size of an average living room.
Considered one of the 'right' whales by whalers, the bowhead was hunted almost to extinction, and is among the most endangered whales in the world today.
