Predators

The most common natural predator of the beluga is the killer whale, which can easily overcome the slow beluga whale. Polar bears are sometimes successful in hunting Belugas when they become trapped in the ice during the spring thaw. The most significant effect on the beluga population, however, has been the result of human interaction.
