Barrow
The northernmost community in the United States, Barrow lies on the coast of the Chukchi Sea. This site, close to the point where the Chukchi and Beaufort seas divide on Alaska's northern coast, has been a popular with human settlers for thousands of years. Migratory birds and sea mammals pass through these seas with reliable predictability, attracting native hunters and making the area around Barrow significant both biologically and archeologically.

Today, Barrow is in many ways a modern city, though its native population fights to ensure their rights to the land and its resources, and by extension their culture, survive the advent of the modern age.
