Michael Robertson oversees Arctic Kingdom's diving operations and advanced diver training. Michael is an expert diver and instructor for just about every type of technical diving. He has extensive experience with the systems to generate and mix all of the gasses necessary to support the most sophisticated types of diving. He has set up gas storage and blending facilities throughout the hemisphere and operates a hydrostatic testing facility for Transport Canada. In 2007, on an Arctic Kingdom expedition, he managed the world first deployment of a portable oxygen generating system deep within the arctic to support fully closed rebreathers used for filming intimate animal encounters.

Michael has operated vessels in the Great Lakes for over 20 years and overseas planning for Arctic Kingdom's nautical expeditions. He is also experienced in repairing and servicing inflatable boats and manages Arctic Kingdom's zodiac fleet. Michael oversaw Arctic Kingdom's deployment of a heavy duty zodiac from a Twin Otter following remote aerial scouting for whales and also drives Arctic Kingdom's air boats.

Michael has amassed over 5000 dives since starting in 1986 and is an Instructor Trainer for Extended Range and Trimix through TDI and IANTD and is also an Instructor Trainer for DAN's Diving Emergency Management program. He is a closed circuit rebreather instructor up to full trimix, PADI Staff Instructor and cave diver. Michael has enjoyed exploring dry caves since the early 70's when he began karst exploration with his grandfather. From planning rebreathers and mixed gas to boats and maritime routes, Michael plays a key role both on and behind the scenes on many of Arctic Kingdom's most cutting edge expeditions.
